The Embassy of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria in Stockholm hereby informs all members of the Algerian community residing in Sweden and Iceland, as well as foreign applicants, that effective 3 August 2026, the following measures shall apply:

With regard to the submission of applications for biometric passports and visas, it is now mandatory for applicants to appear in person at the Embassy to submit their application files and pay the applicable fees directly at the Embassy. An exception is made for minors, whose application files may be submitted by their parent, legal guardian, or legal representative.

Accordingly, the Embassy requests all applicants not to send visa or biometric passport application files by regular or registered mail, as any application received by post will neither be accepted nor processed as of the above-mentioned date.

The Embassy further informs applicants that an appointment booking system will be introduced in the near future in order to organize appointments for members of the Algerian community and foreign applicants seeking biometric passport or visa services.

Detailed information regarding the appointment booking procedure will be published as soon as the system becomes operational on the Embassy's official website and its official social media platforms.

The Embassy kindly requests all applicants to comply strictly with the provisions of this announcement and thanks them for their understanding and cooperation, which will contribute to the efficient delivery of consular services and the continuous improvement of service quality.
